From Risk to Resilience: Online Forum Series on the Aspects of Covid-19 Response and Recovery

Posted on June 6, 2020August 28, 2025 By PASCDR Admin

With the goal of promoting better understanding on the strategies in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Philippine Academic Society for Climate and Disaster Resilience (PASCDR) and Start Network, together with the UP Resilience Institute Education Division, organized a forum, “From Risk to Resilience: Online Forum Series on the Aspects of COVID-19 Response and Recovery”, a four-part online forum series wherein each session tackled different areas of concern. The sessions were held over Zoom last May 12, 19, 26, and June 2, respectively.

The first session discussed the social protection schemes and humanitarian actions from different organizations, while the second, third, and fourth sessions tackled public health, the economy, and the new modes of learning in education during the pandemic, respectively. Each session engaged individuals of varied professional backgrounds, expertise, sectoral representations, and organizational affiliations as resource persons which ensured the topics were discussed comprehensively from varying perspectives, sectors, and disciplines.

With quarantine restrictions in effect, the online forum series was able to give insights on the impacts of COVID-19 to socio-economic aspects greatly affected by the pandemic through the internet-based platform, Zoom.

For individuals who missed the forum and are interested to watch the replay, recordings of the forum can be accessed on the PASCDR website.
